Mixed grand cru red Burgundies (AuZone, Stockholm) : Light red colour. Nose with ripe strawberries, just a hint of herbs, a hint of spice, flowers, rather elegant, but a "light" nose. Palate with strawberries, cherries, some bitterness, spice, rather noticeable tannins with oak, OK concentration. Slightly tough and uncooperative, has it entered a dumb phase? 89 p. Decanted for several hours: Elegant and Powerful. In the glass the wine was brilliant - much more color than expected yet retaining a sheen. The nose was delicately floral with a thrum of heady black and red fruit under the surface. It is hinting at the complexity it will obtain in several years - decidedly masculine yet only showing hints of earth.
