Drinking superbly. Smooth, almost vanillan characteristics, not a lingering bouquet (should have let it breathe longer) but a lingering finish.

High quality. It is quite big initially with an American oak overlay and some reductive pong. But after a long decant, this opens up into a spicy Shiraz that isn’t overdone.

No fruit on the nose, leaf compost aromas, pickled cabbage, some floral notes. The palate is a little lean and thin compared to what you’d expect an Aussie Shiraz as the fruit has faded but there’s a hint of black fruit and lovely fragrance and elegance to this wine.

last bottle and one of the best . Good colour for the age - deep garnet . Not powerful but plenty of fruit .

very different to the last bottle - much fresher after being opened for 30 mins from the bottle . Not a great wine but good drinking .

loads of blackcurrents and initially seemed hot . Decided to decant which turned out not to be a good idea as it faded fairly quickly over the following hour .

Hot bouquet. Compote of fruits. Earth. Pepper. In the taste red currant with some grasses. Soft almost sweetish. Pleasant finish with toast, wood and liquorice.

NobleRottersSydney - Hunter Valley; 8/13/1999-8/15/1999 (Hunter Valley) : {cork} Dark chocolate flavours with a cinnamon touch. Background dusty tannin, sound acid line, slightly warm finish. Good.
