Brought this to my brother's place for our annual CNY extended family gathering. Pale straw green in colour. Burst of white floral fragrance on the nose, backed by ripe tropical fruits and citrus notes, followed by big guava and grapefruits, with wonderful perfumed aromatics. On the palate the wine is crisp, elegant and refined. Fine texture with a fresh, dry finish. Good wine with excellent QPR.

Brought this to Yu Pavillion for dinner to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. We ordered steamed longevity buns, Peking duck, blueberry prawns, spinach with 3 types of eggs, fried tofu with egg floss, steamed buns with braised pork, deep-fried enoki mushrooms, yuan yang hor fun, and white fungus with peach gum. Straw green in colour with a beautiful nose filled with cut grass, guava, passion fruit and dragon fruit. The acidity and salinity of the wine are outstanding, with the freshness …

Brought this wine to Hey Kee HK Seafood to celebrate the birthday of one my army buddies. We ordered the Temple Street Crispy Roast Chicken, Supreme Soy Sauce Fried HK Noodles, Steamed Turbot with Chopped Yellow Chilli, and the “Typhoon Shelter” Style Stir Fried Sri Lanka Crab. Pale gold in colour, with a delightful nose filled with ripe guava, cut grass, and a touch of gooseberries. This is an ideal wine to bring to Hey Kee as it pairs very …

If I had to encapsulate this in one word it would be: Intense. Powerful grapefruit and mango with some salinity and grassiness for both nose and palate. Nice minerality. Went splendidly with a Botturo pesto pasta. This was an impressive showing that belies the unprestigious screw top and very light straw color in the glass. For neophytes, this has a strong and impressive punch that tells you to wake the hell up and quit thinking a cork is a necessary …

Very good NZ Sauvignon Blanc for the price. Love the acidity and notes of citrus. Great wine for a causal summer sip or pairing with dinner.

Though Kiwi SB has reached almost self-caricature status, Wairau River is a class act. This year's edition is particularly fine: deep, herbaceous with plenty of citrus fruit and vibrant acidity. It brings me back to our time in C'Church, cycling back from the local Countdown with six bottles of Wairau River SB and a roast chicken in the knapsack. Good times!

Brought this to New Ubin Seafood (Stevens) for a farewell dinner for one of our friends from the theatre days. Light green in colour, with a perfumed nose filled with guava, grapefruit, dried hay and freshly cut grass. On the palate, the wine is soothing and puts the drinker in a relaxed and happy mood. Pairs well with a wide variety of Asian and Western cuisine.

Vinified entirely in stainless steel, this pale yellow/green Sauvignon Blanc offers aromas and flavors of grapefruit, passionfruit, kiwi, white peaches and bay leaf. Light-bodied, crisply acidic and without noticeable alcohol (listed as 12.5%), it maintains good density on the midpalate and concludes with a medium-length, energetic finish. This is a well-priced white that should be at its best over the next couple of years. Bottled under Stelvin, it can be opened and enjoyed immediately, as it shows no spritz or …

Pale, light clear in color, almost clear. Full, forward & attractive nose of citrus notes of grapefruit, lemons/limes & pineapple with overtones of floral notes & minerals & a hint of lemongrass in the background. Light bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, tangy, ripe fruit flavors of citrus of lemons/limes & white grapefruit, some lychee notes & minerals. Lingering crisp finish. Drinks quite well at present & has a very good QPR when found at discount.

very pale green/straw. pungent aromas: passionfruit, grass and citrus. typical Marlborough SB palate, crispy acidity, some sea salt underlying, (salty flavour is not usual for fine Marlborough SB, but you can find it in a few commercial wines, e.g. Oyster Bay). medium length mineral and slight sweet finish. Pale yellow, almost colorless. What it lacks in color is made up for in the wonderful floral aromas and tropical fruit flavors. Off dry with crisp acidity feels well balanced on the palette. The finish is short and clean leaving you with notes of pineapple.
