My first encounter with the '20 after tasted often the '19; this '20 has not (yet) the somewhat hedonistic style of the '19 and is now more subdued, also a bit more refined, but still comparable with the '19. The combination of gentle wood, vanilla and spices is recognizable and the body has the same intensity. Give this wine another year to blossom fully.

Some wines over Christmas with non-wine geek friends : Powerful and rich for a Bourgogne, ripeness of fruit gave an impression of sweetness. Prefer more cut in my white Burgundies.

Yes! Amazing...minerals, lemon zest, grapefruit...sea breeze. On the palate, lovely balance, medium length, round with a bit of zip in the finish. Drinking well from halves...a rare beauty for the price. Can totally see the Meursault elements in this...

tasted next to the Pierre Girardin '19 Bourgogne Blanc Eclat de Calcaire. These are apparently older vines below the village of Meursault which I believe would qualify for Meursault appellation though I dont know the finer AOC details. The wine is generous and inviting with lovely pit fruit and a real acidic lift that makes every sip interesting. The Pierre Girardin rendition seems to be a richer wine (and different vintage), but this drinks like a champ, and may be …

40yr old vines from 6 parcels in Meursault, organic (per skurnik). there's an inviting orchard fruit richness here buoyed by uplifting acidity. certainly drinks above its level. why? because it's declassified fruit. Kermit's website claims that Antoine Jobard makes one of the best bourgogne blanc on the market, so a Remi vs Antoine bourgogne level tasting is in the works.
