Domaine de la Côte de l'Ange Châteauneuf-du-Pape Secret de l'Ange

The 2015 'Secret de l'Ange' is a gorgeous showing in this vintage. Composed of 80% Mourvedre, 20% Grenache this opens to aromas of black raspberries and dark plums woven together with black olives, dark chocolate, pepper and spices all taking shape. On the palate this is full, concentrated and beautifully structured with a round texture and a lovely streak of underlying acidity leading to the peppery finish. Powerful, intense, full bodied and spicy, with loads of fresh, spicy, peppery fruits and spice. Tannic and demanding time, this will gain in complexity with time. But due to the large amount of Mourvedre, 80%, followed by 20% Grenache, this will age really well. I liked the style here and find this to be a interesting wine that needs to be tasted.
