Light lemon color. Interesting nose of green apple, almond, and minerality. Mouthcoating with juicy acidity on the palate.

Purchased for $16. This is my first wine is the Açores, so i had no idea what to expect. Beautiful golden color. This has a very interesting nose. There's tropical fruit and citrus notes with loads of minerality, but there's also a funk that becomes more pronounced as the wine warms. On the palate there's loads of citrus and minerality. The acidity is unbelievable. So much citrus and acidity, it's like licking a lemon. It's so refreshing that it begs …

From wife: Ripe, juicy fruit. Bold & off-dry, little bit of rocks. Nose is a bit off-putting but taste is great.

Over a few days of drinking this wine with a Coravin, it opened up tremendously. There is great elegance, underpinned by phenolic structure and primary notes of lemon, kafir lime, lime zest, fresh underripe pinapple (underripe is a common undercurrent on all of the notes). The finish is crunchy, lifted, and fresh, making you desire to go for more. The wine was best opened, so I would say forgo the coravin and let the wine breathe.

We very much enjoyed the whites from the Azores on our visit a few years ago. This bottle did nothing to tarnish that memory. Bright and incisive with a lemon and green apple profile on a stony minerality base that's propelled by bright acids. Equally at home with a meal or quaffing on the patio, this strikes a nice balance between energy and substance.

Gorgeous in a kinda Chabliesque way. Dry with high but not tart acidity. Green & yellow apples, lemon & lime, almost ripe peach, some almond, wet stone and maybe a touch of quince. Purely primary flavours but clean, crisp and concise; lovely.

Quite minerally and focused, perhaps needs a bit more time to develop?
