Paul Anheuser Niederhäuser Riesling

Paired with buffalo cauliflower dipped in a ginger, peanut sauce that good friends brought.

Enjoyed this bottle a bit more than previous. Perhaps it was the pairing of slightly spicy shrimp tacos by the pool.

A bit of a let down. I've had a few Anheuser Rieslings in the past that have been fantastic. The 1992 Paul Anheuser Schloßböckelheimer Königsfels Riesling Auslese halbtrocken was simply mind-blowing. But I agree with the prior reviews, this wine is good but not great. It's got nice flavors on the nose and in the mouth; yellow apple, oranges, wildflowers, a hint of petrol. But the sweetness is a bit too high, the acidity a bit too low, the complexity …

Fruit still maintains a good amount of freshness given the age, but doesn't have that electric riesling acidity, so it comes across a bit tired.

Enjoyed at at Thai Sapa at Zion.

Smell was less profound than the 2002 that blew my mind a year ago. Flavor was sweeter than I remembered it. This has nice acidity to balance the sweetness but it was a bit different than what I was expecting. Lovely.
