Casa E. di Mirafiore Barbera d'Alba Superiore

Dark ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of black fruit, leather, wet soil and graphite. Black cherry/berry/plum fruit flavors with notes of black licorice, coffee, and a light hint of oak. Long, savory and smooth finish. Fruit forward, medium-plus bodied and a velvety texture. A bit light on acidity which makes the wine slightly out of balance.

Lighter in style than expected. Red fruits dominate and while pleasing, other examples of Barbera seem to ring the bell for me more than this did.

Like to buy again. Great qpr.
