Writing from memory but had this at the winery. IMO a disaster of a wine. Way overripe, so much alcohol, no balance or grace at all. I poured out the sample.

Bigger. Bolder. Riper. Sweeter. Citius, Altius, Fortius? If this wine was an Olympian it might be DQ’d for juicing. The nose on this is very forward, yet it’s more suggestive of CA than OR. Dark cherries, sweet violets, cola, baking spices. Medium to full body, good balance, acidity brings me back to OR, though ripe fruit is center stage. Exciting and layered nose showing cherry cola, spent bouquet garni, violet, and warm spices. Medium acidity, black tea tannins mid palate. Echoes of tart black fruit provide harmony with expansive forest floor, roast mushroom, and a long mineral inflected finish. Outstanding.
