Classica Hacienda Lopez de Haro, Gran Reserva, Rioja

Wonder if I held on to this bottle a bit long, as did not rate to level of other reviews? Relatively subdued, both on nose as well as palate. Fruit a bit dry, while no secondary notes to speak of. Not bad, but not really exciting. Presents as a relatively run of the mill Rioja.

No detailed notes taken. Better on second day suggest to maybe lay it down for another year or two. Good QPR

Stor och härlig doft av körsbär, kräftspad, dill, kola och jordgubb. Smak av dill, körsbär jordgubb, kola och vanilj. Lång och trevlig eftersmak. Fruktdriven, klassisk Rioja. God!

Really good intensity on a medium complexity nose, with sugared raspberry, bright cherry, cranberry, light unsmoked tobacco, and some coconut- and toffee-infused earth. Medium plus acidity and medium bodied with dense structure and medium tannins that provide a smooth finish. Good concentration of flavours with medium to medium plus complexity, showing delicious red fruits on the attack that are maintained very well through the midpalate, where some oak-spice infused tobacco and earth comes …

Dark brick red with medium plus to high optical density. Excellent intensity on the nose, with mixed black and red berries, mocha, and bramble on top of vanilla and spice. Refreshing acidity on the palate, with medium plus body, it is dry and shows nice tannin structure on the back end, but with a very smooth, plush mouthfeel.
