Maison Saint Aix Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence AIX Rosé

Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club" 2014-02; Provence (@ JC) : The bouquet hardly shows anything; maybe some rose buds. On the palate roses, some small red berries, juicy mild acidity and nicely dry. Clean wine. Some bitterness in the finish, ok length.

Great marketing, average wine. Wish they would invest their premium margin in the quality of the wine rather than in more marketing.

Synth cork, served non-blind. Simple, light, with peach and strawberry driven aromas at the core and hints of watermelon circling at the fringe. Flavors of wet stones, watermelon rind, white peach and dried strawberry, with a some tanginess that lingers, awkwardly. A decent value and most likely welcome on a hot day, but nothing memorable. With each passing vintage, I'm enjoying this less and less. 13,0% abv

Snooze. But they spent good money on that label!

One of my favorites of the summer last year, so far at the top this year as well.
