This is sleek, polished, concentrated and has a lot of fruit. But it lacks complexity and the finish is not very long. Frankly, it tastes like a Chateauneuf-du-Pape mixed with a high-end California Cabernet. The complexity may yet come with further aging, but I am not about to pay this price again to find out. It's certainly very good, but vastly overpriced. I will stick with the Pegau Cuvee Reservee.

Impressive, genuinely delicious, but maybe not a great QPR, the 2020 is deeply colored with an aroma centered on ripe blackcap berries, cigar box and toffee. Soft, rich, very long flavorful palate impression (almost “creamy”, like a blackcap gelato but obviously not nearly as sweet), excellent balance. I’ll score it for the wine, not the price! And in fact, I just bought six more, at $284. Too good not own a few more of them.

Very disappointing and probably an off bottle. No fruit at all. Blind I would guess a young traditional Brunello. All game, funk and damp earth. Time did nothing to improve this. From a magnum.

The first vintage since 2016 is dark ruby in color. With a nose packed with spice, dark red fruits, thyme, espresso and spice. This is the most powerful wine of the vintage, yet everything is in balance and harmony with its seamless layers of deep dark red fruits, pepper and black cherries. Bottling took place in December, 2022. Drink from 2028-2050.

Hundred Acre wine tasting : Barrel sample. To be bottled next week. This is not the definitive assemblage. Very, very similar to the Cuvée Reserve, but sooo much more concentrated. This is truly exceptional stuff.
