A lot of smoke on the nose when initially opened. Wonderful cherry flavor. Had it with smoked duck---great pairing. Wine doesn't have deep color, but that is deceiving. Has great depth. A lot going on in the glass.

A frankly toasty style, with cinnamon and warm mulled raspberry and loganberry fruit flavors mixed with a hint of sous-bois. The toasty side holds sway through the finish, pushing the fruit to the background. Drink now through 2024. 249 cases made. (this is a Wine Spectator review, not mine)

Medium-dark ruby with dark cherry fruit aromas and flavors. Rather noteworthy differences from same vineyard. This bottling seems riper and denser than the Nord fruit, although, perhaps not as complex and layered. Its a blend of grapes from the Soberanes Vineyard and Clos Pepe Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills. (International Wine Review)

This full bodied wine features beautifully broad and round tannin that shows just a bit of skin grain that combines with the modest acid to produce the most refined structure of any Beau Marchais produced. The profile includes a set of refined flavors that mirror secondary development in terms of their advanced marriage: muddled maraschino cherry, red plum, …
