Loved this wine at tasting; purchased at winery. Although properly cellared, it was a bit past its prime. Color was typical for older Zin and much of the fruit was past.

I loved this Zin. Deep berry, rich and velvet finish.

P&P - Dark Zin. Nose of fueled Zin, bit of that varnished oak. Fruit, reddish, orange. Messy mouthfeel, gives way to rough fruit, big wave of it, decent stuff, just disjointed, finish has some dry oak, nasty bitter tannins, cedar, pine, lingering red fruit. Hot, drying, not all that nice. Hope eternal, vac'd & resting. Day two fell apart, if that is possible. No score as this must have been off.

We watched a beautiful sunset over Lake Norman from the Balcony. The wine was spectacular. Wish I had more. Deep rich and ready. If ya' got it drink it; it can't get any better.

Very hot on the nose, some underlying leather, cedar box, bacon and peppermint if you can get past the heat. Not much on the finish, this wine hasn't started down yet but doesn't seem like there is much left to improve. Would have scored lower except for the interesting and complex nose.

Has continued to improve but not sure where this one is going.

It was a dark and mellow wine. The berry flavor was currant like with just the slightest hint of the tartness, while the finish was dusty dry. We paired it with flat-bread and cheese. I wish I would have opened both bottles but we had dinner plans out. Until next time.

velvety nose of berries, especially blueberries, leather and vanilla. lots of berries on the initial attack, chalky tannins. abrupt mid to finish transition = alcohol. Not overly ripe or pruny, but a "fun to drink" zin.
