This is a dark and full bodied rosé, with strong notes of cherry and red currant, down to the meaty part of the cherry flesh. Much deeper and darker than the Provencal rosés. Good underlying acidity also. Dry finish. 100% Ciliegiolo. This helped get me through the vacuous 2015 MTV video music awards with my 13 year old daughter.

The second time I've had this vintage in as many weeks, and the second time I was left scratching my head. I'm generally an admirer of Bisson's wines—I love their minerality, their subtlety—but this lacks both. It's tasty to be sure—wild berries, the faintest scent of herbs, something metallic—but leaves you wanting more. At the price point it's hard to complain, but I'd choose one of Bisson's whites (or another producer's reds) over this on most days. Rated 0 on …
