Sycamore Creek Vineyards Carignane Blake Family Vineyard

Minerally and exotic floral nose. Raspberry liqueur and roasted herbs with nice mouthfeel and mineral. Evolves for a period of hours. Big wine with great extract and very harmonious acidity and fine tannins. Very nice. I was disappointed to learn that the producer won't be making this anymore.

Deep color and great old-vine extract. Nose starts with some elegant floral and slightly herbal tones, but the palate is quite different and along brambly lines. As the wine opens up, it takes a turn for the boysenberry pie. Still, it shows some complex tones and good structure under the fruit and is an interesting alternative to zin or petite sirah.

Another strong red wine coming from Sycamore Creek. Maybe should have left it a tad longer but it drinks really nicely already
