Hartford / Hartford Court Syrah Sonoma Coast

As one of Hartford's lowest priced wines--this blew my mind--such a rich earthy profile balanced with good fruit.

Deep purple in color, with a nose of faint dark fruits and noticeable funk. On the palate, blackcurrant, butter, toast, and smoke. Brawny and somewhat tannic, this wine still tastes closed to me. Big frame, but the fruit just isn't coming through.

Absolutely delicious. Built like a fine Rhone wine that will last and probably improve for years to come.
