The nose is immediately distinctive, showing pronounced aromas of walnut, joined by yeasty, leesy notes and saline touches of iodine, with subtle medlar allusions adding complexity. There is nothing reticent here; instead, the aromatic profile feels evolved and gently oxidative, edging stylistically towards Amontillado rather than a classic, piercing Fino. Nicely concentrated and focused, with an almost creamy texture that rounds the structure without blunting its precision.

Golden colour with hints of amber, so quite dark compared to the other fino en rama bottlings I've encountered. Typical fino nose plus a bit more nuts (almonds, hazelnuts) than usual and some hints of lemon peel that provides freshness. Medium(+) body, again nutty notes, quite good acidity, and a long and fresh aftertaste with a lot of minerality. A very fine fino that is rather substantial on the palate, but rather comes across as an extra aged fino than …

Eye: Dark brown-black center to a yellow-brown rim. Nose: Prunes. Burnt caramel, cacao nib. Palate: Syrupy body. Prunes, maple, burnt sugar, dates. Tiny hint of Christmas cake. A little touch of booze. Very sweet. Finish: Short, sweet, prunes, toast, burnt nuts. Overall: Pretty nice, but not overly complex. I agree with other users that it is slightly lacking some acid. Enjoyed with: Roquefort cheese, brownies, pecan pie, and vanilla ice cream. Edit: It’s like drinking a boozy fig newton.

Served by the glass. New labels, more attractive, for this medium range of Bodegas Osborne presented now "en rama". It is a fine wine with a serious seat on the creamy side but claiming a more saline personality than its inland peers seeking to add character and complexity. Long and moderately coarse. Pleasant and clearly a food enhancer (a clam with lemon tapa). Servido por copas. Nuevas etiquetas, mas atractivas, para la gama media de Bodegas Osborne presentada temporalmente "en …

No objectionable flaws, but lacks complexity. Would be fine to pour over ice cream. I had a glass at Vesta restaurant in Denver, paired with a peanut butter and chocolate cup. The effect, which was very nice, was to remind you of a deconstructed peanut butter and jelly sandwich. (The PX was the jelly.)

Sherry Dinner - mind blown...liver may be as well : very unique. dry fruit, muted orange in color. nuts and figs in the mid along with orange/apricot. floral. long finish with figs and caramel. quite delicious and rather unusual. drinks fresh and light for the style.

I brought 8 of these home from Rota. 5 are now gone. Not the best PX that I've had but good burnt caramel, raisins very sweet -- could use a little more acid, but still quite nice

Very smooth. My first px sherry, lots of fruit cake and banana cream. Quite delicious, I can see why people love these, particularly with /on various desserts.

PLCB Fall 2014 CS Tasting (KoP) : Solid Pedro, all the typical flavors. Raisins, figs, toffee, etc. Not much acid to speak of. Just a nip'll do you fine.

Well, it says, "Very Sweet" right on the label. A little thick and sticky for my taste, but nuts, figs, dates, raisins, coffee caramel toffee in such profusion and intensity that WOW.... You are drinking dessert.

A private lunch (Restaurant Lima *, London, UK) : Sweet and sticky, very aromatic, salted caramel and raisins, impressive depth and power, lacks finesse but not freshness, good length.

OMG was this good. Not as unctuous as a Toro Albala, but just as rich and decadent, with that great nuttiness and sweetness balanced with acidity so it's not cloying.

Vega-Sicilia Unico Vertical and other Excesses (Chez Hazerot, Chez Hart and La Salette Restaurant, Sonoma, California) : black with red meniscus; coffee bean and vanilla nose; thick, sweet, molasses and espresso, with low acidity; long finish

Deep and burnt colour, almost opaque, greenish rim; dark and aromatic nose, intensely sweet, enormously pungent perfume of raisins; powerful and deep but not complex, velvety, liquorous and rich, sticky even but with adequate acidity, flavours of raisins and coffee; magnificent length. A powerhouse but without subtlety, not really to my liking.
