Gee this is good wine. The rich, dark fruit and tannin is all in harmony and it just sings. The perfect accompaniment to Albo’s resounding election victory.

Really coming into the zone. Maybe a few years to improve but very enjoyable now. Savoury and long, clean fruit with acid still showing just slightly. Lovely wine really.

This has a big future ahead, but really needs another 10 years. It is still so dense and brooding and needs time to relax and come together. It's a powerful wine with a fair bit of oak input for a Marius. Drink from 2030.

2nd Bottle of this. Decanted for about 1.5 hours. It feels really ripe in flavour with a fair whack of vanilla oak. The mataro tends to dominate with its earthy, brambly, spice notes. There is some good tannic grip on the finish. I left over night and came back to it the next evening - the wine was a bit more balanced out and harmonious, with the varieties complementing each other a bit better. I did not enjoy this as …

My first Marius wine, thoroughly enjoyed it. I often get a kerosine taste in MV wines, but thankfully not in this. (No problem with kerro in aged Riesling)

A touch more than medium bodied but packed full of flavour. Dark berries, plums, spice, pepper with some american oak toastiness. I love the earthiness & line of spice the Mataro/Mourvèdre brings to the blend. Lovely mouth coating / drying type tannins. The finish is long and lingering. Consumed over two days and showed equally well on day two. If drinking now, I would suggest a long decant/aeration time, but I would park to the cellar for 5-10 years for …

Gutsy (in a good way) wine. Medium bodied with red-dark fruits coming through. Touch of tar. Honest and really good to drink. Will get better over 10 years too!

A big, serious fruit driven wine with heaps of spice and a good line of acid to balance things. Prominent tannins. Plums, sweet and sour raspberries, some vanilla, dry herbs, tobacco, pepper and burnt toast; American oak plays a role both on the nose and palate. A big, brooding, take-no-prisoners wine at this stage with excellent fruit concentration. It’s not jammy or port- like. Dark red to black in colour. This has a long life ahead. Leave it alone for …
