first bottle of a case bought at auction (for £14/bottle): black fruits, maybe drying slightly but to a style of bordeaux I love. Seems in a great place and I imagine would remain so for at least a couple of years.

Fab. From memory, this is more merlot based, and it is just singing at the moment. Like a beautiful sofa: elegant and structured, but even more admirable on contact. Real pleasure at a very sensible price. One to consider cellaring in future. One of those wines you that makes 9 years of cellaring so rewarding.

Quite light cranberry colour. Warm spiced, vanilla aromas albeit a little dusty and undefined. Attractive, ripe redcurrants and a slight gamey aftertaste. Good luncheon claret. [Boxing Day lunch in Tokyo. Decanted 1h. 19C]
