After discovering this at my local Wellcome supermarket, and seeing it was on sale, Mrs L and I backed up the car and swiped swiped the few bottles on display. Then, we drove onto the next Wellcome outlet down the road, and then the next, and the next, until the trunk of the car was so full (it's a Prius, the trunk is tiny) that the car sank low onto its tires as we drove uphill back home with the …

The Bin 23 Pinot Noir 2021 presents a pale ruby hue. The nose offers pleasant aromas of strawberries and cherries. On the palate, the wine is fairly light and fruit-driven. While the 2021 vintage was enjoyable, this particular release falls short, becoming somewhat cloying and difficult to drink after about half a bottle. It's a smooth yet unremarkable wine that pales in comparison to 2020 which I really enjoyed.

Really likeable indeed. OK it's not special, it's not nuanced it's gentle but in a kind of super market mass produced kind of way or maybe that's just how I feel about mid priced penfolds wines and that doesn't really resonate with pinot but it's very pleasant on a cooling summer evening

Really likeable pinot. More subtle than past Penfold Pinots. More Burgundian than previous ones I've tried. For the price can get premium Mornington or Gippsland stuff so this is fighting against serious wines. Holds its own...just.
