Satellite of Soif (Chicago, IL) : Definitely a bit more sweetness overall here, but generally well-balanced with the acidity and dry extract.

I very much enjoyed this wine. It is halbtrocken, which may cause some to shy away. Think of residual sugar as analogous to salt, enhancing the flavor of the wine. Don't be afraid. The wine has baroque tendencies, as there is much going on adding complexity to the experience. The acidity and sweetness remind me of the chirascuro technique of Caravaggio, a dramatic tension which delights the palate.

Zesty and bracing. Boldly tart, with flavors of lemon, white flowers, and raw almond. Unique and appealing.
