A nose of cherry and spice, deep amber in color. A medium to full bodied Amarone with cherry, vanilla, spice, enjoyable with a good finish, has some years left.

Decanted for one hour and consumed with friends over a period of two hours. On the nose we got raisins, gingerbread and dust. On the palate the wine showed ripe red and dark fruits and gingerbread, and was slightly spicy, with good acidity. Unfortunately, the wine was not able to contain the high alcohol (15.5%) at all. The wine was burning on the backend and finish, I felt like Puff the Magic Dragon. I am very concerned about the potential …

Edited 4/25/2011: Leaning towards a modern style, this amarone is layers of blackberry, plum and loads of milk chocolate. Dense and rich with lots of structure. Finishes with a firm wall of tannins and black fruit and chocolate flavors that keep on coming. Very solid Amarone. (best from 2010-2018) Tasted this in 07, scored it 90. Needed some time for the heat to blow off and it did.
