had with the 2020 2020 Castello di Fonterutoli “Badiola” Chianti Classico Radda Gran Selezione... it suffered a bit with the direct comparison. Its a beautiful wine... seemed to have more new oak influence than the Badiola which out volumed the suble notes in the wine that I felt were there... a bit more structed than the Badiola as well. I'd give this a couple of years and try again. Likely to last a very long time.

Too young - and I know there will be folks out there saying, well, duh 😜 But I had the CCR the other night and while also young, it wasn’t a waste of a bottle to check it out. Nose: Muted with some tilled soil; took some time to open up but once it did, some mint and licorice could be coaxed out. Palate: Cranberry, sun baked grape skins; grape stems, polished tannins that have a little extra weight to them.
