Kilikanoon Riesling Killerman's Run

My last of 4 bottles. Dry, bright, and still surprisingly fresh, although the high-acid bite it had when I bought it back in 2020 has now faded. Still very nice, especially for the money, and holding up well. Drank w/a tofu scramble (eggs, spinach, mushroom, and onions. Worked very well with this).

Really nice. Bright, fresh with primarily stone fruit notes. Pale straw in color, with good complexity and finish. My first Aussie Riesling, and it’s delightful. Edit: Went back a few days later and bought the last 3 bottles of this vintage.

Candied lemon peel, freshly cut Granny Smith apple slices, honey baked apple sauce, sea spray. Lemon custard, surprising depths still largely concealing a lot of nuance. Funky stone mineral. Loads of jellied tree fruits. Hints of lime pop in the background. Great acidity keeps the medium+ weight moving right along. Calm waters running deep at the moment keeping the large profile from ever fully becoming evident. Nicely balanced.
