Not big and bold, but not too light either. Went great with our Cioppino dinner. A nice weekday drinker.

No notes taken but this was dark, almost purple, fruit forward with blackberries and pepper, not overoaked, almost jammy, with medium body and a long finish. Drunk with the cheese plate at the Metropolitan Opera Grand Tier Restaurant. More like a zin than a Rhone Ranger.

Banshee Wines (Healdsburg, CA) : Nose of jammy blackberries, black cherries, rich caramel and blueberry pancake topping. Quite chewy, lower acid, full of jammy blackberries and blueberries, and I get notes of cola, mocha, cedar and vanilla bean. Forward and fun but enough structure to be interesting.

Stewed fruit on opening then tamed with air. Definitely that meaty cali syrah but comes together. Some grippy tannins. Great with smoked meat BBQ.
