Reasonably tasty but one dimensional pinot. Red fruit/raspberry nose and palate. Not long on finish, not deep on mineral or acid balance, not much pop or evolution in glass.

A tart cranberry red with a light bright tang. Not much subtlety, nor complexity, but certainly drinkable at an appropriate price point. Cranberry, strawberry, and faint tea. Shortish finish.

Very soft and warm. Spiced raspberry and redcurrant on the nose. On the palette the attack is quite acidic and hot. Fruit is subdued compared to the nose, and not particularly complex. A wine I'd prefer to smell rather than drink.

High alcohol (bottle says 14.5% but my guess is easily over 15%). Not much fruit on the nose or palate. Over-extracted to mislead the taster into thinking its fruity based on initial sweet attack. Nothing of substance is really there, though. That manipulation by the winery alone drops it a couple of points in my book.

Blind Tasting Domestic Pinot Noirs; 12/7/2012-12/14/2012 (The House - Woodley Park) : Vibrant red plum color. Plum skins and cherry jam on the nose, mixed in with a sweet, almost molasses-like aroma. On the palate, the wine is surprisingly smooth, with tannins like satin and medium acid providing a soft background for the bright red and black fruit. First time putting my mind to tasting pinot noir, so here goes. The dark red, very purple hue of this wine makes me believe I'll have a full bodied glass of wine. However, looks are deceiving. The single berry/fruit taste was satin smooth and delicate with a lighter finish than expected. I can sip the whole bottle without knowing it.

Earth, barnyard, and berries in the aromas. As the wine opens, there are flowery notes, with more earth and berries on the palate. There's a satiny mouthfeel, and satiny tannins. Lots of spice in the finish.

An affortable and quite enjoyable Cali pinot noir. Intense strawberry jam, red cherry, vanilla and scents of licorice on the nose. Medium-budied, sweetish with velvety tannins and moderate acidity. Medium aftertaste. Very decent for the price.

A very rich Pinot reflective of warmer climate. A bit porty and thick on the palate but lovely if you like a heavier-bodied Pinot. Fruity, jammy almost sweetish, with very little in the tannin dept. Berries, licorice and black pepper and ripe fruit.

Had two glasses of this last night with my pork tenderloin @ Roaring Fork in Austin. Nice! A tad bit of complexity, nice fruit on the palate. Just about medium bodied....Hahn has really gone thru some positive changes the last few years and it is showing in their recent bottlings.
