light yellow;mild lime ,grapefruit nose, suggests a light crisp wine; the first flavors emphasize oak, followed by a nice crisp acidity, but where is the middle? thefruit?; body med weight, finish med long but not much compared to the promise of the nose. Drink up

Butter ball and scotch candy rolled into one. Not bad but not what we were expecting.

A big ball of buttered popcorn and toasty oak. There was something else fruity biting at my palate that I recall tasting but cannot place my finger on it. For someone who isn't necessarily a fan of white wines, I really kinda dug this. I have a few other single vineyard Patz & Hall chards that I can't wait to get to, but I'll probably try to wait a year or so.

Richer and more concentrated than what usually emerges from Patz & Hall, the 2006 Alder Springs offers deep flavors of green apple and dried flowers, good acidity, and a slightly bitter palate thanks to some oak tannins that emerge on the finish. Perhaps at an awkward stage the oak is quite prominent on this wine, but the acidity and core of fruit and floral flavors suggest that this could blossom later after some cellaring.

100% Chardonnay 14.2 % The 2006 ALDER SPRINGS - Mendocino Chardonnay offers beautiful density and palate tension with concentrated aromas of spicy cinnamon pastry, honey, peach and pineapple. Beautifully textured with intricate stone-fruit flavors and extraordinary minerality, this is a benchmark wine from an elite mountain vineyard.

A bit thin and minerally on the palate. Not bad, but not one of their better Chardonnays.

Delicious with the right blend of oaky butterness.... with a nutty quality. Great to drink on a saturday afternoon.
