Otto Pauly Bernkasteler Lay Riesling Auslese

After two months under cork (no argon), the remaining glasses turned out (tonight) as a feathery kiss of brilliance and elegance. The oomph is gone, but balance, complexity and length remain. Absolutely lovely!

Alarmingly dark-dark amber. The nose has a wee bit of Oloroso character but no nasty sorts of oxidation or heat damage. Amazingly fresh with elegant fruit, flowers and a bit of citrus swimming in warm and refined herbal/spicy components. Absolutely astonishing! Enjoyed at both Primo and Alte Liebe (Yokohama) and a couple of glasses remain for future pleasures. First time for me to meet with this producer. This wine has many more years ahead of it!
