Terroir-istes International - Italy, Northern Whites (Overgaauw Wine Estate) : (Tasted Blind): A mid-yellow colour. Aromas of gravel, minerals, and concrete dust at first before revealing white pear, angelica herb, basil, and apple with a touch of rose hip and strawberry. Quite a distinctive entry of unwaxed lime skin accompanied by leafy elements before the mid-palate fills out to a combination of creamed strawberry, white pepper, blanched almond and quarry dust. Crisp, clean with good minerality. Soft nose, almost floral, but not quite. Like right before the blossom. Had this with gnocchi in sage butter sauce. Gave great balance to the sauce.

Had with Parmesan crusted cod in lemon cream sauce. Delicious with the dinner. It was better with food for sure.

Vin Chicago Pre-Holiday Tasting and Sale (Vin Chicago - Chicago IL) : Walk around tasting. Starts lean, bigger middle is fun and easy, even if simple. Good now.

Piedmont; 2/11/2019-2/15/2019 (Alba, Italy) : At Le Torri Ristorante. An easy white wine to go with lunch -- mostly unoffensive and zesty. A very mild bit of green on the palate here that comes off not quite as astringency, but maybe more of a herbal thing? Overall nice acidity and zing, if not particularly complex (which really wasn't what we were looking for anyway).

Interestingly, I opened the bottle one night and had two glasses. Finished the bottle second night, and after 24 hours, was much improved.

Pale golden color. Fragrant, floral nose. On the palate peaches and honey quickly transition nicely to a core of stony minerality. Long finish. Really nice Arneis.

Aromas of quince, white flowers (Queen Anne's lace), yeast, almonds and gravel. Bone dry, medium acid, med+ alcohol and med- body.

excellent dry white citrus fruits nose with mineral notes high acidity, dry rich flavours of citrus, tart, mineral, structured, long finish and aftertaste. Good value for money.

Simple lemon and some green apple notes Nice acidity

Eclectic Piedmont Tasting (SF Wine Trading Company) : Yellow. Lower pitched with a scent of almonds. Lighter weight but creamy feel on the attack. Honeyed pear flavors, lots of earth on the finish.
