Domaine Drouhin Oregon RoseRock, Chardonnay, Eola-Amity Hills

This bottle showed continued positive development of this wine. Rounded and deepening fruit, nicely balanced acidity, and a very nice somewhat creamy finish. Held up well against a cassoulet, where the preferred pairing had been a 1er cru Burgundy a couple nights previously. Drouhin Oregon’s Chardonnays are always good, but I think the Roserock Eoala-Amity has a clear edge. Well done, Veronique!

Generous fruit. A balance of citrus and orchard flavors with plenty of acidity at this point in time. 30-minute decant was sufficient to open the aromas. A lot of time left for this one... excellent.

TBD - I have loved this wine previously. Tonight, it seemed that, yet again, I managed not to serve it at a cool enough temperature, which isn't usually an issue. Maybe the butternut squash chili wasn't aligned. Maybe, it was the minus 5°C and snow outside which is pissing me off!!! 🤣 In other words, maybe my self induced ambiance wasn't what it needs to be? Anyway, I'm certain tomorrow it will come around.

These Roserock people really know their stuff.... Delicious. Last bottle seemed more oaky, more California. This one, was more refined, less wood and yes, it's from the same dirt and wood, but, it just seemed less residual sugar and now flowers and fruit. Awesome! I'll not go further. But, I'll get more of this in a couple of months for the house wine for summer 2023! PS- Drink The Rainbow!

I wondered that since the RoseRock Pinot Noir Zephrine, was a mid 90's in my estimation, their Chardonnay must be at least acceptable? This subtle and finely crafted wine is far too young to drink now. It has great finesse but will not show all its charms until at least 3-5 years have elapsed. To appreciate what it may deliver when at its peak, serve it at just below room temperature--certainly no colder. Picked this up on a whim from Costco for around $24. Great bargain. Good balance, mouthfeel, and not overbearing with oak. Great nose of lemon cream, some flinty character, and stone. Long finish with richness and melon notes. Definitely will buy more.

Beautiful balance and a very Burgundian touch -no surprise. Fine acidity, som butter, hints of vanilla, discrete spice. Very young, will live, become more layered and mellow IMHO. 91+

Medium bright yellow color. Aromas of pear, lemon, and melon. Palate has light pear, nutmeg, lemon, and honeysuckle/vanilla flower notes that carry into a medium finish that showcases some bitter lemon pith astringency, possibly a bit of an alcoholic note. Overall a nice wine now with room to improve with a few years in the cellar. Drink or hold.

Not sure about this wine, each sip tasted a bit different, tart, some oak, touch of vanilla, some off flavors as well, ended up good sippin, medium body, some bouquet, drank with Asian salmon and tuna with brown rice fried rice, might try again.

A lovely bright Chardonnay. I get both white flowers and lemon (citrus?). There is a electric feel to it with very subtle oak that is well integrated.

Tasted at Domaine Douhin Oregon tasting room. More brash than the DDO Chardonnay - needs time to settle down. Potential is there.

Bright straw. Med+ intensity green melon and peach with some oak/vanilla notes. Med+ body with similar notes to nose, long finish with great acidity. Perhaps slightly too much oak influence but really wonderful otherwise.

Light clear brass. Lemon and grapefruit nose. Smooth, silky. Primarily citrus. Lemon, lime, grapefruit again. Very nicely balanced. Excellent.
