Raventos i Blanc, De La Finca, Cava

At "An Afternoon of Ovid" burger grill Very dry. Not much on the nose until it warmed. Then a little brioche and apple with some light lemon zest and lime zest. Seashells on the palate. The effervescence fades very quickly.

BTG at Alto. Maybe the best cava I've ever had. Lovely balanced lemon/lime citrus flavors, good effervescent bubbles, and this KILLED with food. Wonderful paired with their hazelnut scallops, where the acid came alive and it started zinging and tingling flavor all over the place. Just a bit more oomph and depth than most cavas. The second wine from Raventos I've had this week, and both have been excellent. A producer to seek out.

Great lively wine with some very interesting complexity both in nose and mouth.

Mundial

Light lemon color. Flavor of mountain herb, apple core, bitter walnut and honey. Very dry on the palate and light bodied.

(tasted on the second day) Warm bread, spices and ripe yellow fruit on the engaging nose. Ripe yellow and red fruit, citruslike acidity and a hint of toast on the balanced, broad palate. Excellent quality.

A private dinner (Restaurant Amador ***, Langen, Germany) : Honeyed, Rhône-like flowers and herbs but ultimately rather austere and dry.

Mineral, cream nose; tasty, tangy, green fruit, minerals palate; medium-plus finish 91+ pts.

Delicate, active bubbles in a rich golden brew of color. On the nose, the wine is pungent and fruity, showing aromas of lychee, banana, cranberry, green apple under a fine mist of perfume notes. Light in body with medium acidity, the wine is both expressive and integrated. Big herbal and green apple flavors on the palate that linger, luxuriously, for moments before a big tropical finish. Great wine! 5/5

Golden and clear, this is a beautiful looking wine. On the nose the first notes come off as light mushroom, pineapple and yeast. Very full in the mouth with a incredible fruit component, and rich toasty flavors. Think lemon compote with pineapple spread on a dark piece of toasted bread. Really a beautiful wine. 5/5

Cava e Champagne : Palha, perlage fina, numerosa e constante. Amargor, boa acidez, fruta, final longo e agradável.
