Acidity driven, in some kind of dumb phase. I think this needs time or at least a little bit of air to come together. Would keep in cellar for at least 5-10 years!

Refine 10 Jahre Schöner gereifter Blaufränkisch mit balancierter Säure. Nicht so hoch in der Säure wie junge Exemplare daher sehr angenehm.

Enormous nose of sour cherries and blueberries; small espresso note; then come fresh, ethereal herbal oils (mint, sage), which clearly tickle the nose; only very lightly and delicately in the background some vanilla wood Beautiful attack, which is initially juicy and dense on the palate, yet the wine remains extremely fresh; here too there is predominantly sour cherry and invigorating mint, a fine minerality and a hint of pepper; the tannin is dense, but so fine that it only becomes …

Cranberries, black currants and especially cardamom on the nose, really expressive. Crunchy fruit on the fresh palate, nothing overdone, nothing overripe. Not a bordeaux copy like so many other Blaufränkisch. Just a great, characterful wine, and still so young. 17.5/20

Expressive, very clean, with pencil shavings and red berry fruit on a rock solid structure of great acidity and high quality tannins. All fresh, crunchy fruit here, nothing feels forced or "made". Still drinking super young. A great wine. 17+/20

not blind, Magnum Peak/Shortly over his peak, still enjoyable. Spicy, dark berries left in the tank but dominated from tertiary aromas. 90-91

Blind tasting of six top level Austrian wines with friends. This was clearly the wine of the evening. Ranked 1st place by all in the group. I have always loved this vintage though it was always quite a tannic vintage. But now, with 10 years of age, this is entering its prime drinking window. This burst with complex, ripe, but never sweet red and black berry flavors, very elegant and no hint of overripeness, perfect tannin structure, silky but providing …

From Mag, in a good place right now, should hold for a few years, a bit rustic like most Blaufränkisch

Medium garnet/purple color, with some violet towards the rim. Deep dark balsamic notes, but also notes of cassis, dark cherries, blackberries, tobacco, some spiciness too, smoke, lead pencil, some savory herbal notes too. It‘s medium-full bodied, dense, with excellent persistence, has medium+ tannin that is present but very good quality and medium-high acidity providing a lot of tension. Very long finish with a touch of RS (but nicely buffered by the acidity). An excellent Blaufränkisch that might still need another …

Chablis and Champagne Weekend; 4/17/2019-4/21/2019 (Au bon Manger, Ingo's castle, Rocaille, Le Pot d'Etain) : not blind Reminds me to a Gold vintage of a high class Bordeaux. Pencil, black currant, dense, concentrated, decanted for 2 hozrs. Starting to get pleasant. Good acidity structure, strong but ripe Tannins. At least 10 more years. 93-94

l'Insieme Tour Graz 2019: Striking mocha and sour cherry flavors on the nose; similar flavors on the palate, juicy and mineral style, but lacking a bit of mid-palate weight, silky tannins, soft and easy to drink. I am missing the structure and purity of great vintages like 2011 and personnally I am not a fan of mocha flavors in wine . - 89 points

Nice powerful wine, reminds to a northern Rhone (Syrah), earthy, pepper, nice black berries, reluctant and elegant, at least 10 more years ahead, 92-93

Dark clear ruby. Nose of black pepper, dust, black cherry. Ripe medium palate of tart cherry, blackberry, plum, and black pepper. Ok length. Bracing acidity. Young fine tannins. Very good example of Blaufränkisch, not my favorite varietal. I my experience, you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find a good one.

this was interesting stuff. cork perfect, color very dense purplish garnet. on the nose I got dense white pepper and some oak framing the dark fruit. on the palate this was not what I was expecting at all, with more weight and power than any blaufrankisch that I have ever tried. blind I would have guessed a northern rhone but it lacked some of the other characteristic gamey/meaty aromas that I associate with those wines. if you want to stump …

Wine tasting Blaufränkisch Burgenland 2006 (Home) : Magnum. Clear ruby red. Nose very typical. Some red berries, cherries, herbs, hints of leather. Medium body. Very long, some tannins. Fresh yet powerful. Very balanced. Great wine. Good now, will improve a little within the next years. Has 10% Cab, but that's hard to notice, just some chassis in the mouth.

Vinorama Classic Event 2014: I stick to my earlier statement that this is the best Perwolff of recent years. Tremendous depth of flavors, tight and unevolved, massively tannic, great acidity, great oak integration, gorgeous dark berry fruit. This will shine very brightly in 5-10 years and beyond. - 92 points

Probably one - if not the - best Perwolff of recent years, this has enormous depth and potential, great purity of fruit, some elegant oak and tar, dark chocolate flavors, very spicy and fine pepper note, lots of depth and lots of tannins that need a few years to resolve. Slightly bitter on the finish though. Really good but clearly too young. - 91 points

Flight 3, Central and South-Eastern Europe, Wine 5 (blind): The wine was dark ruby in colour and offered a fruity nose of blackberry, blueberry, raspberry and some dark cherry. On the palate the wine showed blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, cherry, spices and clove, paired with medium-plus prominent acidity, medium-plus slightly bitter tannin, some heat from the alcohol and very good length. The wine had average complexity and concentration, but lacked balance as the body did not stand up to the structural …
