Weingut Klumpp Weiherberg Pinot Noir

EEE March 2023; Spatburgunder (@ JWS) : The bouquet is a bit reticent but has some mineral impressions. On the palate a bit thin, red berries, a lot of acidity and candy. Not my style.

Initially a ripe, dark pinot nose with flavours like cherry and also spices. With some more air, the nose is changing and smoky character is now dominant. All this is backed by a refreshing acidity and a silky mouthfeel. I like that it does not have this overly perfumed nose that some German PN sport and that I find quite off-putting.
