Albert Morot Beaune 1er Cru Grèves

Post dinner short sip at Wimborne. My bottle. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of ripe red berries, frsh red cherries. Developing. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fresh red cherries, sweet ripe red berries, sweet spice cinnamon sticks, herbal bark, bit if emerging savoury earth and hint of of leather. Long finish. Double decanted for a charcuterie lunch. Smooth brambly nose of strawberries, cinnamon, hints of mineral. On the palate bright red fruit, hints of oak, very smooth and classy.

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (M&R's) : Double blind. Starts with a smoky molasses aroma, followed by black cherry and spice tones. Becomes more red fruited as it sits in the glass. Juicy cherry and red berry fruit on the palate with soft spice and nice acidity. Excellent, but I would not have guessed Burgundy. Great raw materials, but I would hold this a while and wait for its true character to reveal itself. (J&L)

开瓶即饮，淡宝石红偏紫色。闻香有烤芝麻味，野肉气息以及奶油草莓味，入口酸度中高，单宁紧致，颗粒细腻如细纱，咸咸的酒液，矿物感清晰，收口甜美，口中是植物根茎的气息，草莓味，甜美的红果，混合着奶油香气，后段有些许香料的辛辣，余味是细腻的红果，木质香气和茉莉花香。醒酒一个小时后，酸度更加高挑，酒的结构感也更强些，甜美感有所收敛，咸味主导的矿物感更突出，香气的层次也更清晰，樱桃的香气变得明显，后段还有一些草本植物的清凉感贯穿到余味之中，甜美的樱桃果香混合着奶香，紫罗兰，长留口中。醒酒两小时后，植物的辛辣感有所增强，多了玫瑰花的香气，余韵悠长。一款随时都可以开瓶享用的酒。细腻精巧，香气漂亮，做得很平衡。整个品饮阶段一直在变化，不同阶段展现出不同的特点，我最喜欢它刚开始的表现，果香主导，甜美可口但又不缺乏深度，富有表现力。

Cooked/oxidized

Had it with Coq au vin. Dense, good and dense wine. Some burnt tire smell. Anybody else smelled this? Try in another year or so.

Opened too young I think. Quenching, tannin-crunch, wood, brambles, fruit to the background at the moment. Decent quaff, but revisit in 4 years.

Albert Morot Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 2, Visit 2) (Beaune Burgundy) : From 375 ml bottle at the domaine. Ripe black fruit that shows much of the same flavors profile as the '16, but with much more concentration, depth and length. Slightly more tannic, so this isn't a fun, delicate wine, but a burly, powerful and impressive 1er Cru to cellar for a decade+.

2015 is herald for greatness and Meadows claims that Beaune is the most overachieving village of the vintage. This Bressandes doesn’t contradict that thesis. It’s big, dark and jucy and with some air the oaky notes disapears.

Big, juicy, dark fruit. Still fresh with no signs of over ripeness. Tight. Needs time and/or air. Will most certainely improve considerably over the coming 10 years.

This sparkles in the mouth. Good concentrationwith lightness-this is burgundy!! Oak is a little more prominent. 3.8

Tasting, brief note. Black and red cherry start-to-finish with VG concentration and balance. Old school structure works so nicely here with the ripe, borderline sweet, fruit.
