Matthew Jukes 100 Best Australian Wines (Australia House, London) : Gunpowder raspberry nose, soft sweet Smokey body. Sweet.

Sweet stewed plum nose with some musk. Not sweet but savoury plum. Smooth vanilla finish. Grows with air, putting on palate weight and complexity and losing the overt musk on the nose. Good wine.

High powered, clean, admittedly sweet but within the bounds of what is typical of the region. Sweet minerals work nicely. Not an every-day type of mine but well worth a look.

Curiously got the better of me. And it was opened too soon, as expected. Still needs time in the bottle to mesh together. Oak sticking out like a sore thumb at present. Otherwise seems to have an ok balance of everything else. Sit tight on the rest.
