Opened the bottle about 1 hour before drinking. On the nose, I smelled cranberries, perfume/floral notes, bright fruits, and slight earthy tones that I suspect will come out more with age. Upon sipping, I tasted cranberries, slight herbal, mushroom, and floral tones. It was light with good acidity with chalky tannins. The pinot is a bit fruitier compared to Oregon and Burgundy. However, it tasted like it lacked that extra "oomph" that other wines (especially pinots) have. I would sit …

Nearly perfect example of an iconic Sonoma Pinot. Dark cherry and freshly cut tobacco on the nose. Light and fresh on the palate. Exceptional.

A complex and contemplative juice. Unfolds slowly with air, reveals layers of cranberries, blackberries, leaves, and iron, alongside earthy notes of bark, mushrooms, and spices. More medium bodied, supported by bright acidity and fine, chalky tannins that frame the detailed, layered fruit. With impressive tension and a long, spicy finish, full of depth, nuance, and evolving intrigue. Fascinating finish

Visit to Littorai (Littorai, Sebastopol CA) : The nose is perfumed and poised with pretty and balanced tones of raspberries, sour red cherries, pomegranate, crushed rocks, a touch of carob, fresh herbs, violets, and a good dose of rose petals. This is a nose that really wants to let loose, but just isn’t fully ready to do so yet. There is a refined nature that keeps bringing you back to the glass. The Medium bodied feel shows off the poise …

Lovely deep nose, take few prisoners. A lovely sweet / dry balance at first, walking a fine line with balance and precision, it does have an austerity to it as well though. Jeez these guys make good and interesting pinots! Opens up to a fireworks display of taste, lucky to be drinking these.

Lovely perfume, clear and straightforward, a little aniseed, this is a lovely nose. Rounded body, touch of salinity, bright fruits, berries, touch of honey, lovely. Rings clear as a glass bell :)

Powerful nose, musk and deep fruits, more opaque than cerise. A little bit of fizz on this bottle and not a lot of taste, this could be a bit dudded, maybe. Not a huge fan to start with. Later note - must have been the Coravin, gave this another go and it was astonishingly good.

This is a very, very good pinot. Ox’d for a couple of hours, it’s full of refined mineral structure and barely enough sugar with a hell of a lot of length. Forward cherries, maybe even a subtle sour candy, you won’t be disappointed to drink this now. Oh, and it’s got a lovely fun floral nose too. Great, a wine that’ll impress.

Opened it a few hours before drinking. The nose got red fruit, such as strawberry and raspberry. Much more fruit forward than the PM Ma Danseuse I drank with this one. I tasted strawberry and spice. This wine is more drinkable now than the PM and not as earthy and floral. The bottle was still a bit tight. As with the PM, I know the bottle needs more time. I would give this bottle another 2-5 years before opening.

Served at Littorai wine dinner. Dark cherry and earthy flavors overshadowed by finish with strong spice notes (cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom). Good and different, but not completely harmonious.

Burg Dinner (CA and France--Served Blind!)--Part 2 (The Macks In Bennett Valley) : Aromatic is nice but the wine was surprisingly rich given the producer and how I think they make wine. Cola, raspberry jam, watermelon and seemed syrupy.
