Aromas of primarily dark fruits (cassis) with some red berry fruit, toasty oak notes and some leather and a hint of spice. Medium bodied with pretty good acidity and decent length. Mature and probably not going to improve with more time, but should be able to hold for some time.

Spicy leather blood in a good place now. One of the best of the box

At 28-50: this smoky and even softer than the Burgaud, with a neat touch of vanilla, quite lush, very attractive, but lacked the depth and character of the Burgaud

Lush, mature and right on the spot. Dense and elegant with tertiary notes. A very very fine bottle!

Red fruit, good acidity and a medium body. A bit of complexity with that fantastic rose petals and mud you get from 100% syrah. Realy liked this a lot. But its a food wine. Dont try to drink it on its own.

dark colour, lovely sweep of syrah across the nose, some maturity, secondary aromas, cote rotie in style, good balance and fruit but perhaps lacks the complexity and persistence to be rated higher. The best botttle yet and becoming mature.

Rhone dinner with Paul Jaouen (Backstreet Wine Salon, Phoenix, AZ) : I liked this much better last time. Very floral and perfumey. A bit hot.

Enotria (Enotria) : Great nose. Very acidic palate - needs food!

From 3ish year old vines - and it shows this far into its evolution. The wine has stopped evolving and has instead begun to devolve. Poor wine.

This has a really nice nose - a rich perfume of dark fruits, roasted meats, bacon fat, and minerals (tending towards iron). On the palate, it has rich fruit, a good finish, and moderate tannins. However, a big issue for me was the acidity - it seemed far too strong, out of balance with the rest of the wine, a bit like someone had squeezed a lemon in my glass.
