My last of these. I really enjoyed the first one I had six years ago, though the subsequent six pack I got didn't make quite as much of an impressions; I still tend to enjoy Italian syrah a lot.

Medium bodied, modern and traditional styling. Needs 30+ min air for depth. Starts with blackberry, cranberry, black fruit, skins... leads into cappuccino, cacao/dark fudge, soft volcanics. Well integrated tannins, good length and freshness alongside the dark tones. Would have guessed Sangiovese was involved, some BdM DNA in here. No rush to open, but will slowly become a 750ml espresso. 92

Not as good as I remember - a bit tight and stifling.

Shockingly good. I’ve had a few Italian Syrahs before and have always been really impressed. This is so complete, it’s perhaps slightly thinner than some big Syrahs I enjoy from Paso Robles, but then there is a racy energy and sweet character that is captivating. There is no pepper or spice aspect to this style. 94++pts. Case-worthy; possibly a top ten wine of all time at its sale price of about $28.

Earthiness with hints of dark fruits and spices on the nose. Taste of blackberry and plums. I like this wine with hearty pasta and salumi.

Little bouquet, tight tannins and dry finish. Astringent. Much better Syrahs from CA Wash or Australia for less

Cassis, and a touch of band-aid (not in a bad way) on the nose. Slightly muted in the mouth, tightly wound. A tad bit on the lighter side but very tasty offering.

Drinking very well now, but has a lot of life left ahead of it. Ripe cherry and raspberry on the nose. Nicely packaged n the mouth, medium bodied, with a nice backbone of acidity. decanted 4 hours

Medium ruby, clear with a clean nose. Tobacco and leather with secondary dark cherry and blackberry nose. Low+ acidity and tannin. Medium length. Worth decanting and good value for the money.

This was a huge disappointment when I first tasted it back in 2015, but has improved noticeably since then. Has opened up quite a bit - both on the nose and palate. Now offers complex - though still subtle - aromas of crushed dark fruits, earth and spice. Full-bodied and not nearly as closed, austere and leafy as before. Showing much more tangy, delicious plum and blackberry fruit this time, with greater depth and intensity. Still finishes bone-dry, but with …

Young Syrah with lots of red sour plum and cherry on the palate. No secondary notes even after 2.5 hours of decanting. No excess ripeness is a big upside. Should probably improve over the next two years.

Subtly fruit-forward and tannic in the classic Tuscan sense, but not over powering. Cherry, cassis and leather notes are most prominent throughout, leading to a smooth and creamy, but dry, finish. Excellent.

First bottle from a half-case just purchased. Of the three vintages I have in my cellar and have tasted (2009-11), this one is by far the least appealing. Trim and unyielding on the palate, which is surprising for a 2011 Toscana. Full-bodied, showing a nice core of plum and blackberry fruit, but lacking in depth and intensity. The bone dry, medium finish is rather leafy and herbal in character. 2011 was a difficult vintage in Tuscany, and unfortunately this wine …

Tasty, full bodied Syrah from Tuscany. The flavors are straightforward and the oak is strong, but the power of the fruit and solid acidity make this a wine worth the tariff.
