Nicely matured Cahors from 30+ year old vines, aged for 18 months in oak, 30% new. Deep ruby colour. Medium+ intensity inviting aroma of blueberries, violets, blackberries, dry earth, ink, pencil lead. Medium+ body, fruity with persistent rusticity which diminishes with hours in decanter, even better on second day. Medium+ fine sandpaper like tannins are the key here, balancing out its rich fruitiness, producing great overall structure with oaky and floral hints, medium acidity.

A bouquet of cassis, black cherry, black olive and vanilla, leading into an attack of blackcurrant, closely followed by a deep second section where the black cherry is joined by a spicy taste of black olive, finishing at the top of the palate with sweet citrus fruits. Sounds odd but it's very enjoyable. Highly recommended. It does need opening several hours in advance.

Not at all open yet but the flavours and taste reveal that there are good things in the waiting. The rating will definitely go up with time and be in the very early 90ies. It has already some sweetness and could - after decanting for some time - accompany food; dark meat in a casserole or a steak. The structure is fine and the price/value excellent.

This Wine is not yet developed and contains lots of tannins. It does however have some sweetness after time in the glass and may develop into a more satisfying experience than now.

Strong and Powerful. NOt to keep it too long as it seems to have reached its climax

Actuellement très bon. Assez costaud, chêne bien présent. Milieu de bouche un peu sec, mais finale agréable. Aurait été intéressant à goûter après aération. RQP ***(*?)
