I am having some bottle variation with these, but this showed very nicely. Intense, saline, a touch of volatile acidity / natural wine on the nose, pear, wax, quite intense. Needs lots more time, but it is difficult to keep my hands off. 94-95.

Love Loire 2025 (Conway Hall) : Smoky, savoury and dense - ripe but contained. Muscular on the palate - concentrated but so coiled. It needs a lot of time but wow you can tell it's special. Exceptional length.

Académie des Cinquante Anjou / Muscadet visit; 10/1/2025-10/3/2025 : A hint of reduction on the nose, very masculine style, powerful but without too much weight, mint, aniseed, pierre a fusil, even deeper than the Quarts de Chaume wines, palpable minerality, great length. An intellectual wine. Still a bit closed, needs more time. Score based on potential.

Scored and tasted blind: quite natural on the nose (which was a bit surprising considering I didn't think that before when I had this wine), intense, long finish, some herbs, lovely acidity, a tad of bitter on the finish (perhaps this should have gotten a bit more air). 94-95.

This must have been one of the best wines I ever had, and a textbook example of intensity. Initially some reduction dominated, but with time this gave way to orchard fruit, flowers, crushed rock, some stone fruit, all with an intensity and balancing acidity that is to die for. It carries its 14% alcohol very well. I can only imagine what this will become, but happy to have tried one in its infancy.

Had as part of our tasting at Belargus. I didn't make a note for the other wines, but this one stood out so much that I just had to record it. The intensity on this wine was incredible, even the tasting sip we had jumped out from the glass with a combination of orchard fruits, slight oxidative notes, wax, high acidity on the palate, long finish. What a wine!

Wow excellent perfume of jasmine. Minerals, guava, yellow plum, butter. Very concentrated but soft on palate with no harshness. 14% ABV

Feels like a much leaner, cooler vintage compared to 2019. Purity of fruit is in focus, balance is top. Long finish. Lovely wine. Not much more to say for this beauty.

Still a baby, lots of white flowers, citrus, lime and stone fruits. Good concentration and structure but acidity is high right now. Looking forward to drinking this over the next few years.

Domaine de Belargus tasting with owner Ivan Massonat - taking the fight to the worlds best dry whites (The Warehouse Hotel, Singapore) : Tasting with owner Ivan Massonat at the Warehouse Hotel, Singapore. Tasted alongside 4 other cuvées from the 19 vintage. This was the sole 20 which the domaine has chosen to release before the 19 as the latter is judged not ready yet and deserving of further elevage. Passionate explanations from Ivan on the potential of this terroir …

Loire trip 2022; 6/15/2022-6/19/2022 (Loire, France) : [At Domaine Belargus] - Barrel sample - After Franck took all the time to show us the vineyards (including this one, Treilles), we tasted the 2020 barrel sample. This vineyard was recreated by Jo Pithon based on a picture he saw of the place from mid 1900: a vineyard which had become a forest. He recreated this steep and south facing vineyard (we went to the top with 42 degrees Celcius mid June). …
