Opened and decanted for an hour, but I should have followed my own advice and drank this, my last bottle, last year as it is starting to fade. Still a good bottle of wine, but just not what it was.

Same notes as before, but I've tweaked the rating up a point. It is even better than before. I only have one more bottle of this and I am sorry for that. Wonderful bottle of wine.

Popped and poured. Really soft and velvety upon opening, but softened even more an hour later. Brick red in color, with a definite Barolo nose and flavor profile. Medium body, with a long finish. Drinking extremely well right now - will open the rest of my bottles this year.

A Barolo lover's Barolo for sure. This is light bodied and very youthful in appearance. Nose is muted, but with some coaxing gives plenty of hot tar and mineral. The firm, tannic palate is alive with tar, spice and, well, more tar. This is the first backward 03 I've had, but I really like. Long, long finish, great structure, but very young. Hold until 2011 at least.
