Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Corcelette

Aromas of strawberry and redcurrant with a hint of toast. The palate is silky smooth; it lacks the usual ripeness typically found in Mee Godard wines, instead displaying a rather high acidity. However, the wine remains cohesive, admittedly a touch austere in its expression, with strawberry flavors dusted with spice. A pleasant finish with notes of bramble. A good Morgon, with a rather fresh profile.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, cranberry, raspberry, red currant, strawberry jam and light toast. It tastes like red currant, blueberry, plum, cedar and light toast. The body is medium/full. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Love this wine, finishing up the last of my 6 bottles. Juicy brambly fruit, soft tannins, baking spice. Not the most serious, but one of the most enjoyable wines in my collection.

The nose isn’t really open. It needs time for the aromas to show. More dark berry fruit, some spices and pepper. Good length. The tannins are somewhat grippy. Needs time.
