Big surprise honestly, I have never had a wine from Israel before very nice, no real nose but bordeauxish on the palate

Full MOT scoring - This was most unusual. A hint of orange to the overall color - very thin looking and expected a very light wine. While the wine was thin, the tannins very punchy and interesting. A good lengthy finish which seemed unexpected. Not a punchy fruity cassis bomb. The flatter merlot comes through as well as acidity of shiraz but more in an "italian" style.

Certainly worth a try, interesting on the nose, almost like a Pinotage from SA, mid weight on body and nose, a touch of smoke and oak. Med short finish. Paired with a pheasant dish which helped!

By the glass from Confit Restaurant (Crowne Plaza Haifa, Israel). A representative blend of Cab.Sauv., Merlot, and Syrah. Overly New World in its profile (but from the original Old World!). A hint of olive, some spicy cherry fruit, and a roasted element. Plenty of tannins and acidity as well. Paired perfectly with their Lamb kebobs.
