Hasn't budged much since my note from last August...lots of everything packed into a somewhat overwhelming package, with prominent acidity and heat too much in the forefront for my taste. Again, however, not bad in the context of the spicy baby back ribs we had for dinner.

Decanted ~2 hours with vigorous aerating, consumed over 1 hour. Spicy and acidic, with concentrated red fruit and some heat. Disappointingly out of balance, but this actually went fairly well with the spicy baby back ribs we made, but I don't know how well it would go with anything too different.

This is one darn good CA Syrah, that is if you like 'em big, bold and a little spicy. This is a Zin lover's Syrah, lots of fruit and kind of jammy. The balance was a bit off...15.8% alcohol, but not enough to enjoy it...a lot.

N: Light tobacco and red fruits. P: Stewed red currant, cherry, tobacco, plum, a little candy, some heat, a little spice. F: Currant with a bit of heat.
