Castello di Amorosa Gewürztraminer Late Harvest

I was concerned that I let this lay way too long. However, it was better than I remembered. Hints of sweet citrus and honeysuckle. Not overly sweet. What a great way to cap my wife's 38th B-Day dinner with friends.

The label says this is made from late harvest and botrytized grapes with 12 brix left after fermentation. I was expecting a much sweeter wine but it was a surprisingly balanced desert wine that holds its own character when pitted against spicy food due to it's Gewurtz origin. What more can I say? Pleasing, spicy, balanced, great with or without food.

Very, very difficult to keep in the bottle, and glass. Wonderful apricot and honey notes with a soft finish. Very light alcohol made this smooth as silk.
