No notes taken, but this wasn't nearly as good as the previous bottles I've consumed. This definitely had a lot more development, showing some old roasted fruit flavors throughout, and quite a lot of funk on the nose. That said, it did improve over the night, and still showed lots of nice structure. So for the next bottle I should be sure to let it air out for quite a number of hours.

First bottle in five years, and this is still holding beautifully strong. Very fresh, balanced, and integrated notes on the nose, showing nice pleasing ripe berries, some forest floor, and quite a bit of depth. The mid palate is nice and luxuriously smooth, showing pleasing flavors throughout. Moderate acidity still present on the finish. We drank this at dinner so no formal notes, but it held strong for nearly two hours open. I don't think this is improving from here, …

Delicious, full bodied PN with very good fruit, sweetness, and balancing tannins. Great immediately on opening. Forward and very drinkable. Should be good for a few more years if you still have any.

Oregon Pinots with the Wine Thursday group at WWS (Willamette Wine Storage - Portland, OR) : Served blind: This smells old, chocolate truffles, toasted wood, vanilla, cherries, strawberry aromas all play across in the nose. Smells quite pleasing. The palate shows some sharp edges, long, large acidity along side still young feeling red fruits. Some age is definitely evident on the palate though and shows on the finish. The finish isn't long but leaves you with enough time to take …

1997-2005 Oregon Pinot Noir (Willamette Wine Storage) : Very soft and pleasing nose, awesome mushrooms, earth, partnered with very well balanced acidity. Really nice palate, soft and pleasingly integrated, with a mild yet complex and sexy feel to it. Not quite as smooth on the finish, showing big acidity, but the becoming soft and pleasing. The finish held this back a smidgen.

Oregon Pinot Noir 1997-2005 (Willamette Wine Storage - Portland, OR) : The nose is dark and rich reminding me of brownie mix, plums, and a poblano pepper. The structure is even from beginning to end when tasted. There is a great burst of apple and plum flavors on the mid palate, and the poblano pepper makes a surprising appearance as well. The tannins build slowly, and light acid is more noticeable late. The experience goes by fairly quickly, but the …

No formal notes, brought to a restaurant. Really muddy aromas on the nose, lots of earthy notes present, with no noticeable fruit. There was more fruit on the palate, though it was darker than expected, almost trending plummy, but it had beautifully balanced structure. Finish was showing nice bright acids mingled with earthy flavors and dirty raspberries. Nice tannins remain, with fantastic overall balance. This could hold together for a number more years. Look forward to exploring future bottles in …

Nice. Leans a tad toward the earthy side but nice acidity and decent fruit.

Lots of dark fruit present on the nose and palate. While hints of aged fruit were present, it was not overwhelming. The structure and acidity were a real surprise, and my estimation is that this wine could go for another 5 years with no problems! I recently tasted the 98, and that had much more of the "aged wine" quality than this 99. The wine is certainly good for drinking now, and was one of the favorites of the night, …
