We pulled to and had it bling side-by-side with the Les Vine de Vienne Viognier by Culleron, Villard ad Gaillard. While this wine showed fine, it couldn’t hold up to the Les Vine de Vienne. It remains a one dimensional wine. Nothing changed from the last bottle a couple of weeks ago when I observed: “lychee fruit, white peach, white pepper and bit of vanilla ... the bouquet lacks focus ... some apricot, but the mid-palate remains hollow. The vanilla …

Much the same as it has been - a bit voiceless. With St. Angel and Haberston cheeses and cursty bread.

This bottle is better than the second bottle but not as good as the first bottle. Really not certain what to make of this wine. It is rather one dimensional. The nose reveals some lychee fruit, white peach, white pepper and bit of vanilla. While not a big bouquet at all - and that’s not a complaint - the bouquet lacks focus. On the palate those nose come out as well and are joined by some apricot, but the mid-palate …

The first bottle of this wine was rather good. The second bottle .... not so much. It seemed appropriate to set aside the plan to wait 6 months before popping a cork and simply pull a bottle and concentrate on the wine without the noise of food and conversation. Nose: lychee fruit, white peach, white pepper with a touch of vanilla. Palate: Much the same on the attack with apricot late to the game, the mid-palate is a bit hollow …

The nose is muted; the palate voiceless. Very little of the apricot and tropical fruit notes displayed by a sister bottle 11 months ago. Has this hit a dumb stage? Perhaps; some of Linden’s white have been known to do that. A rather tight wine. We’ll see what 6 months of time might bring on these. 13.3% alc. With Thanksgiving leftovers of fried quail over sweet potato waffles. Recommended with Reservations.

Very clear, with very little color; a very slightly detectable yellow at the core, but clear at the wide rim. Nose of apricot, tropical fruits especially pineapple. Very floral with white blossom and tangerine. Made by “browning juice” to allow more oxygen to access the wine and “tame down” the exuberance of the phenols (per Jim Law). Tight and crisp with no baby fat. This will be fun to track. 13.3% alc. With crusty bread, duck prosciuto and cheese on …
