Colour looked great entering early maturity. Fantastic 2015 vintage. Nose had lemon zest some lime wet crushed rocks, white flowers and some light gasoline notes. Bone dry palate with decent acidity but seemed balanced against the fruit and created a cerebral elegant mid palate and finish.

Top shelf GG dinner (Chicago, IL) : Due to a miscommunication (or because all the labels really do kind of look the same), we had a second bottle of this open at the table, but this one was slow-oxed starting around 3:30pm. The nose wasn't as expressive, even though the palate showed exactly the same. So moral of the story, slow ox a bottle for 12 hours before drinking it.

Gorgeous wine shared at a RieslingKenner Rare GG dinner at 312 Fish Market. The nose burst with wildflowers, pineapple and fresh limes. The delicious palate showed exotic white peach and fine spice. Loved it.

Blind. Terrific attack, very focused. Definitely Rhine with the lack of petrol. Called Keller, thought a cooler vintage like 2010 given the whiplash acidity. But this makes sense as their 2015s were a turning point away from the slightly richer style. Lots of white flowers and yuzu and lemon, thrumming finish.

2015 Keller Abst Erde GG was outstanding and a beautiful pairing with passionfruit prawns. Intense aromas of lemongrass, white flowers, stone fruit and kumquat. Layers of super concentrated and lush pineapple, lemongrass, herb, mineral, tropical fruit, lemon rind, ripe melon. Insane purity of fruit and concentration, a hair behind the even more uber-concentrated 2015 G-Max, that also had an interesting and minerally black tea note and more of an intense lemongrass finish (LOTB 97/100). Medium yellow gold. Pineapple, tropical fruits, passion fruits, citrus, honey, mango, white flowers and minerality. Full bodied, medium-high to high acidity, high structure, medium alcohol and long finish. Bold, concentrated and well-balanced. Wine was dense and tropical. Good lift and good bones to support the dense fruits. Wine much more open than Keller of similar bottle age.

Cellartracker in the flesh with Vintomas, CBRWineGuy, Rote Kappelle (Canberra) : Apple, peach, honey, apricot, a little mineral. In the mouth it's off dry, slightly dried stone fruit; nectarine, touch of grapefruit, textured burr, slight non intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish but this is rather lovely.

The amount of precision and laser focus on this wine is hard to fathom. It carries a piercing nose of petrol, Granny Smith apple skin and clover honey. There is incredible tension and searing acidity on the palate. Just a fabulous wine I can’t wait to replace.

Another beautiful bottle. Light on its feet with plenty of ripe stonefruit and a touch of RS adding to the texture and long finish. The high acid has pretty much finished intermingling and what's left is a dry Riesling in its early peak. Would be happy to drink now, but can still go further.

(BYO Blind tasting) Full, rich and immediate nose. Apple and minerals. Nettles and white flowers. Pineapple and grapefruit peel. Very deep, complex and powerful. Medium-fullish palate. Very, very high acidity. Amazing grip. Steely and austere. Very pure. No petrol at all. Still youthful, but with amazing concentration, intensity and length. Among the best Riesling's I have tasted, this can probably go on for 10-20 years in the cellar.

Best bottle (Restaurant Georges, Ludwigsburg) : Glass: Zalto Burgundy Tasted blind. Half of the bottle was decanted. Clear, pale golden color. Nose from the decanted part quite muted, straight from the bottle more complex, very floral. On the palate very delicate and floral, herbaceous and mineral. Extremely youthful. Wine from decanter was very good, but not exciting, around 92+, wine from the bottle was way more complex and dense, around 93-94. IMO still way too young. Give it a few …
