Evening with Nico Rossignol (Table, Donkey and Stick - Chicago IL) : Black and red cherry with sublt spice notes. Starts of rich, then tenses up in the middle with a firm backbone carrying it forward. Better to hold a few more years. Identical to how it tasted a few days ago.

La Paulée San Francisco Grand Tasting of 2022 Burgundy (Conservatory at One Sansome, San Francisco) : Clear ruby. Licorice/anise scents. Tart, dry cherry, high acidity, quite stony. Nice citric lift, a bit of chocolate, and substantial tannins. Interesting wine that will take decades to express itself. It may have been the least typical wine from this generous year that I tasted all day.

La Paulée - San Francisco Grand Tasting (One Sansome-San Francisco CA) : Walk around tasting. More density and gravitas here, even not as much 2025 pleasure in the glass today. Lots of red and black cherry throughout, ever-so-slightly backward in the middle, with power emerging on an expanding finish. Very good potential from 2028-.
